Photo Gallery: Ohio State commits, targets take campus for SummerFest

COLUMBUS — Ohio State hosted its first recruiting event in over a month on Friday and it was a smashing success.

The Buckeyes’ “SummerFest” event was a well-represented mix of commits and prospects throughout the 2024, 2025 and 2026 cycles.

Ohio State hosted the recruits for a cookout with a mix of yard games in a barbecue-like atmosphere. The event originally was supposed to take place in Ohio Stadium, but got moved to the Woody because of potential weather conditions.

Lettermen Row made its way to campus Friday night to scope out prospects leaving the Woody Hayes Athletic Center at the conclusion of the event.

The recruiting event headliners were a few members of the 2024 class with Garrett Stover, Bryce West, Deontae Armstrong, Devontae Armstrong, Ian Moore, Jaylen McClain, Marc Nave and Sam Williams-Dixon.

Four-star Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback and Ohio State commit Tavien St. Clair represented the two-man 2025 class for the Buckeyes as well.

It’s been a pretty busy summer for Ohio State on the recruiting trail. Between recruiting camps and official visits, the Buckeyes have hosted well over triple-digit prospects within the last two months. The culmination of all those moments has led Ohio State to a pretty successful summer too. There certainly have been some misses on the recruiting trail, but that happens with every program.

Ohio State now turns its attention not fully away from recruiting, but more toward the team itself. It opens up training camp on Thursday, Aug. 3 with the team on the field at 8:30 a.m.

And now the Buckeyes are a little over a month out from the 2023 season debut. They take the road for a Big Ten East Division tilt at Indiana.

But for now, let’s look at the last glimpse of recruiting as the major focus for the Buckeyes.
