HOL Take: Saturday was by far the least Nebraska has rotated on its defensive line this season, only playing nine guys total and just four for more than 10 snaps. The standout of the unit was Gunnerson, who returned from a shoulder injury and posted the second-highest overall defensive grade and top pass-rush grade (even though he wasn’t credited for a single QB pressure). Hutmacher was again the mainstay of the d-line, as he recorded NU’s lone sack and had two STOP tackles. The Huskers were only charted with 11 pressures, and the defensive line had four of them.

HOL Take: Nebraska continued its relatively even rotation at linebacker against Louisiana Tech, with seven guys playing at least 16 snaps. The only LB who played less was Reimer, who exited in the first half with an undisclosed injury. Wright had one of his better games as a Husker, posting the highest overall and coverage grades on the defense. He finished with five tackles (three STOPs) and tying Bullock with a team-high two pressures. Nebraska was charged with nine missed tackles in the win, and four went to linebackers (two by Bullock).

HOL Take: After playing 13 defensive backs last week vs. Northern Illinois, Nebraska stuck with its top-five for nearly the entire game on Saturday. Brown played every defensive snap and led the Huskers with eight tackles, including tying Newsome with a team-high four STOPs. He was charged with two missed tackles and allowed completions on six of his team-high nine targets for 57 yards. Singleton had a strong day, posting the defense’s highest tackling grade. He did give up catches on all three of his targets for 48 yards, though, including the Bulldogs’ lone touchdown pass. Surprisingly, Louisiana Tech didn’t shy away from Newsome, targeting him seven times. Five were completions, but they only went for 41 total yards.
