Penn State set to welcome back 2026 edge rusher for Lasch Bash

Penn State set to welcome back 2026 edge rusher for Lasch Bash

Penn State has added another top target in the Class of 2026 to its list of expected visitors for the Lasch Bash Barbecue at the end of the month. On Thursday, On300 prospect Daniel Jennings confirmed with Blue White Illustrated that he’s locked in his plans to attend the July 26 barbecue.

The Nittany Lion coaching staff will actually host two events on July 26 and the 27th. The first barbecue will be primarily focused on up-and-coming prospects in the 2026 and 2027 classes. We’ll likely see a few underclassmen on campus Saturday as well, but the second event is primarily for those who have already committed.

This visit will be the fourth trip that Jennings has taken to Penn State since March. After attending a spring practice in March, the Princeton Senior prospect returned a few weeks later for the Blue-White Game. He then followed that up in the beginning of June to work out with defensive line coach Deion Barnes.

Listed at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds, Jennings earned an offer from the Nittany Lion coaching staff during his first visit to campus. So far, Illinois and West Virginia are the other two schools to offer.

Ranked No. 183 in the nation by On3, Jennings was up to 235 pounds at one point but has now dropped about 15 pounds to 220. AT the Under Armour Camp in Baltimore back in May, he ran a 4.7-second 40-yard dash and a 4.6-second shuttle, which stacked up well amongst his peers. He followed that up with another strong performance at Penn State’s camp in June.

In addition to Jennings, BWI confirmed on Wednesday that another On300 prospect, Philadelphia native Wydeek Collier, also plans to attend the Lasch Bash. The Neumann Goretti prospect is currently ranked No. 140 nationally by On3 and fourth overall in Pennsylvania.

At 6-foot-5, 200 pounds, Collier is being recruited as an edge rusher by Penn State but is listed as a wide receiver by On3. This will be his second trip to State College following a trip back in March to watch spring practice.

“A lot of love was shown,” Collier said when asked what stood out during his March 29 visit. “The facilities were really nice, but the biggest thing was that I liked how intense the practice was. That was a lot of energy there. The offense and defense battled.”

In addition to Penn State, Collier holds offers from Boston College, Charlotte, Duke, Miami, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
