Penn State set to propose Beaver Stadium field naming partnership: Live updates

Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft will present to the university’s board of trustees for approval a major naming rights partnership for Beaver Stadium on Monday morning. Having secured a deal with West Shore Home, a technology-centric home remodeling company, and its founder and CEO, Penn State alumnus B.J. Werzyn, the proposed name will be West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium.

Beaver Stadium renovation makes progress

“I feel really good about where we are,” Kraft told reporters during a February press conference. “We put out the renderings. We showed you kind of where we are in the process. Fundraising has been awesome. It shows that when Penn Stater’s get behind something. I feel really excited about that.”

Naming rights would be a new layer of fundraising, of course. And more money is likely to be raised for the project after more than $65 million has already come in to support its construction. That has taken shape with the sale of founder’s suites, as well as donor-named areas of the project.

“Really happy about where it’s going,” Kraft said in February. “I really believe it’s going to be something fans are going to be proud of. We’re trying to make it so it’s as loud as humanly possible and continue to keep this as the greatest home-field advantage in all of sports.

“I’m happy. I’m excited about where it’s going and the direction we’re headed with it.”
