Paul Finebaum worried about Georgia in College Football Playoff if Carson Beck is ruled out

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck suffered a UCL injury on the final play of the first half against Texas in the SEC Championship. Backup QB Gunner Stockton replaced Beck at halftime and played the entire second half until the final play of the game.

After Stockton absorbed a massive hit, Beck came into the game and delivered a handoff to Trevor Etienne, who scored the game-winning touchdown. While Beck was able to fight through the pain for one play, his status for the impending College Football Playoff is unclear.

During an appearance on SportsCenter on Monday, Paul Finebaum weighed in on Georgia’s playoff hopes if Beck is unavailable.

“They are not fine,” Finebaum said. “As we get ready for the playoffs, this is the single biggest question going on: what is Carson Beck’s condition? Remember, he came out of the game, they brought him back for one final play.

“It’s probably his elbow that’s in danger right now. We were waiting for an MRI, and that’s interesting. We’re still waiting. It should have already come in. Something tells me it did. I don’t like the sound of this one.”
