Paul Finebaum: College football ‘long term won’t suit’ Deion Sanders

Paul Finebaum doubled down about Deion Sanders making a call to Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys following this Colorado season.

Finebaum essentially said Sanders is not long for college football with the way it is current constructed. That includes the transfer portal and NIL, especially looking at Colorado’s long term prospects.

But Coach Prime and the Dallas Cowboys? That’s a match made in heaven following Sanders’ successful college football run.

“I think they will make the playoffs. I didn’t think so a week or two ago I didn’t think they would have a winning season two months ago, but what you said about the Cowboys is dead on,” Finebaum said on First Take. “I think Deion now knows college football is too difficult, dealing with the portal, dealing with the NIL, dealing with the bureaucracy of administrators. I don’t think long term will suit him.

“He’s beaten the system. If the season ended today, it was a masterpiece. But I think he can do so much more, especially with someone like Jerry Jones. You can attack Jerry Jones all day long. And it’s easy to do, but there is a relationship there. And I think it would work. It would be the biggest story in sports. And I think Deion would be very smart to make would that phone call.”
