OU women’s basketball breaks school record for points scored

OU has cruised to a 3-0 start in the 2024-25 season. And they’ve done so in record-setting fashion.

The No. 9 Sooners, led by fourth-year head coach Jennie Baranczyk, dominated Western Carolina on Wednesday, winning 122-56. Their 122 points was a school record, breaking the previous mark of 121 set in 2008.

Junior transfer center Raegan Beers once again led the way, totaling 27 points and nine rebounds. She’s led OU in scoring in all three of the team’s contests this season. Sophomore Sahara Williams added 16 points and senior Skylar Vann had 15 points. Freshman guard Zya Vann had a career-high 12 points, too. And senior guard Lexy Keys had her best game of the season thus far, scoring 11 points, going 3-of-3 from 3.

As a team, it was OU had its best shooting performance of the season. The Sooners shot 55.6% from the 3-point line, going 10-of-18. They shot 63.2% from the field in the game. And they had 30 assists in the game.

Oklahoma will be back in action on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Wichita State. The Sooners won’t be back at the Lloyd Noble Center until Dec. 8 against Alabama State.
