Oregon Women’s Basketball Duo Withdraw from WNBA Draft

Oregon Women’s Basketball Duo Withdraw from WNBA Draft

It’s been an interesting off-season for Oregon women’s basketball head coach Kelly Graves. He’s had names enter the transfer portal, some enter the WNBA draft.

All of this comes on the heels of what was likely one of his most frustrating seasons at Oregon. The Ducks didn’t finish quite as expected ending in a tough NIT quarter-final loss to rival Washington.

And then came the transfers.

Thursday morning two Ducks have withdrawn from the WNBA draft. Which means they will remain at the collegiate level somewhere.

Both Sedona Prince and Endiya Rogers have rescinded their decisions to enter the WNBA draft.

With the extra year given by the NCAA due to the Covid pandemic, Prince could exhaust her final season in college. Her 2022-2023 season was cut short in October with a season-ending elbow surgery. At the time she was leaning heavily towards entering the WNBA draft.

As for Rogers there has been a lot of speculation surrounding her future. She entered the transfer portal and WNBA draft simultaneously. She has been widely reported with ties to the LSU women’s team and several players, most notably Angel Reese.

Rogers has been an all Pac-12 first team selection the last two seasons at Oregon. Should she decide to return to Oregon, this would be her final season of eligibility.

While there has been a lot of hand-wringing over the roster turnover for Kelly Graves, the potential return of both Rogers and Prince could be a massive win for Graves.
