Oregon QB Commit Luke Moga Details Visit, Commitment

A day after committing to Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks, 2024 3-star QB Luke Moga from Sunnyslope High in Phoenix (Ariz.) made his way back to Eugene to check out the Oregon Spring Game.

And he described it as “nuts.”

ScoopDuck caught up with Moga following the visit to discuss his commitment to Oregon and his recent visit.

“I have great times every time I go there,” he said. “What stood out was the environment at a spring game.

“45,000 at a spring game is nuts. Those fans are crazy.

“I walked out and they started chanting my name, which was super cool.”

Moga said he’s glad he decided after all to commit on April 28.

“The hard part is done in choosing the school,” he said. “So now I’m all about the work with my high school team.

“I cannot wait to put on a show for the much-deserving Duck fans for years to come.”

White in Eugene, Moga spent time with both Lanning and Will Stein, as well as connecting with a handful of fellow prospects.

“It was nice spending time with Jaxson Jones, Aaron Flowers – the committed guys. I’m trying to get Jeremiah McClellan on board, too.”

Moga is working on bringing a handful of other top recruits to Eugene:

“Jeremiah McClellan. Elijah Rushing. Christian Clark. And Dillon Gresham.”

The highlight of Moga’s trip was the Spring Game and the game-day environment Oregon has to offer.

“It was electric,” he said. “To have the fans show out for a spring game is super cool.

“The fans were chanting my name, which was awesome.”

Moga plans to be back in Eugene for an official visit June 16-18.

As for his surprise commitment, Moga felt it was the right time due to the love Oregon showed throughout the recruiting process.

“They’ve shown me I’m the top guy for them, and showed it throughout,” he said. “The caliber of players I’m going to play with is excellent.”

Moga also raved about the resources available and the culture in Eugene

The Ducks also appear to be the team to beat for 2024 QB Michael Van Buren. But Moga said he is ready to compete for the starting spot in a few years.

“I feel great about it,” he said. “I know where I stand with them, and I’m confident in my abilities.

“I can’t wait to compete and go to battle every day if that’s the case.”

And Moga isn’t whistling in the dark when it comes to Van Buren.

“I’ve talked with Mike,” he said. “He’s a good kid.”

When asked to describe his strengths in a few sentences, this is how Moga responded:

“I’m an electric but very mature quarterback with the highest ceiling in the country. Passionate player.”
