On300 WR CJ Wiley talks official visit to USC

Milton (Ga.) High On300 receiver CJ Wiley took his official visit to USC this past weekend and gave the experience out West high mark.

The Trojans are battling Auburn, Georgia, Florida State and Texas A&M for Wiley’s signature.

“It was good,” Wiley told On3. “I had fun. 

“I enjoyed visiting the campus and meeting the coaching staff. Coach Riley and Coach Simmons have been together for a long time and have had a lot of success with offense and receivers. 

“I like stadium, it’s huge.”

Wiley was joined by his parents

“Man the hospitality was great,” Wiley’s father Chuck said. “I thought it was better than I expected.

“They rolled out red carpet. Coach Riley, Coach Simmons, Coach Gavin and even the quarterbacks coach Coach Huard showed interest in CJ and told him they want him here.”

USC checks a lot of boxes for the Wiley camp.

“The track record of success,” the elder Wiley said of what’s standing out about the Trojans. “They’ve coached a couple Biletnikoff winners, he’s had Heisman Trophy winners. His offense, they throw the ball around a lot. His past Oklahoma days and even Texas Tech days, I totally forgot that Coach Riley went to Texas Tech. Their history of winning. Also getting in that conference in the Big Ten I know they’re excited about that.”

Wiley went to a USC game with his dad inside the coliseum when he was young. Riley and company are doing what they can to get him to play his college games there in the future.

“I think he really enjoyed it,” Chuck said. “I think he vibed with the coaches and doing some of the things they’ve done with the offense, he definitely talked about that history and things they do with those guys.”

The Numbers

On3 ranks Wiley as the nation’s No. 6 receiver and No. 43 prospect overall. He’s back at Georgia this weekend. LSU and Florida State are the following two weekends.

USC has On3’s No. 3 ranked recruiting class.
