On300 RB Marquise Davis recaps another visit to Michigan

Cleveland (Ohio) Heights On300 running back Marquise Davis returned to Michigan’s campus for a third visit of the spring Tuesday evening as the Wolverines continue to emerge as one of the front-runners in this recruitment.

“I will say the people were a big highlight on my latest visit,” Davis said. “Felt very welcomed as always.”

Davis got in early evening, had dinner with coaches and continued to talk about a potential future wearing a winged helmet.

New Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford was heavy on Davis during his time at Ohio State and they haven’t missed a beat with Alford moving to Ann Arbor. Davis attended a spring practice at Michigan earlier this month and loved the efficiency of it under head coach Sherrone Moore and the new staff.

“The way they premiere their running backs, they are a priority,” Davis said of what stands out about Michigan.

Davis also likes the physicality the Wolverines play with.

“Aggressive and dominant,” he has said.

Davis is coming off a terrific junior season where he rushed for 2,228 yards and 35 touchdowns and he also had 63 tackles, five stops for loss and three interceptions.

The 6-foot-1, 200 Davis has a Top 10 that also includes Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, USC, Ohio State, Penn State, Missouri, Texas A&M and West Virginia. The Wildcats are considered one of Michigan’s biggest challengers and he was also recently back in Lexington.

The On3 Industry which combines all four media rankings slots Davis as the nation’s No. 11 running back and No. 183 prospect overall. On3 tabs ranks Davis as the No. 7 running back in the class and No. 114 prospect overall.
