On300 LB Kamar Mothudi talks recent Michigan offer, relationship with Chris Partridge
New Michigan linebackers coach Chris Partridge has been expanding the board ever since arriving in Ann Arbor.
Partridge, along with area recruiter Jay Harbaugh, recently dipped into the talent-rich state of California and extended an offer to On300 Los Angeles (Calif.) Hall linebacker Kamar Mothudi.
“It meant so much, especially since most of my offers are from the Pac-12,” Mothudi said. “To get recognized by another Power Five conference meant a lot. Michigan is Michigan. Everybody wants that offer. I was really excited.”
Along with Michigan, Mothudi has offers in hand from Arizona State, Cal, Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Utah and a handful of others.
While his offer sheet is very West Coast driven, Mothudi said he’s very open to leaving home and loves what Michigan can offer on and off the field.
“They have a great team with a great football tradition,” Mothudi said. “That’s what I really like about them. They have a great culture. People around Michigan really support the program.”
The next step for Mothudi is making his way to Ann Arbor for his first ever unofficial visit to Michigan, which he expects to happen soon.
“It not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when,” Mothudi said. “I just mainly want to see the campus in general. Everybody knows the football is great. I just want to see the campus life and things like that.”
For now, Mothudi plans on continuing to grow his relationship with Partridge.
“I love him,” Mothudi said. “Coach Partridge is excited about me, and I’m excited about him. They look for certain guys with certain attributes to play for Michigan. He said that I fit that. That mean a lot to me.”
Mothudi, who will enroll early at the school of his choice, is aiming to make a decision at some point this summer.
At 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, Mothudi is ranked as the No. 20 linebacker and No. 203 overall prospect in country, per the On3 Industry Ranking.
Mothudi has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.8K with 2.9K combined followers across Twitter and Instagram. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
