The scholarship offers continue to stack up for offensive lineman, Jason Zandamela, as the University of Florida recently joined the fray as well.

A four-star prospect from Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International, Zandamela checks in as the No. 9-ranked interior offensive lineman and No. 172-ranked prospect overall. He is also a top-25 junior in the Sunshine State. That is according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“They are a great SEC program historically. I like how they have two offensive line coaches because not a lot of programs have that. I also like the campus,” Zandamela told Gators Online.

“They have been recruiting me for a minute. They have known about me for a year and a half, and then the offer I would say pretty much came out of the blue.”

While he has yet to speak with Billy Napier, Zandamela is constructing relationships with additional UF staff members. Those include offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton, who are recruiting him to play center for the Gators.

“They are just normal conversations every now and then, checking up on each other,” said Zandamela. “They like that I can move. I have very long arms. I’m just overall versatile and an athletic offensive lineman, and that’s what they need.”

ACC program is generating the most buzz with Zandamela

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Florida State is trending heavily with odds of 97.1 percent. Multiple predictions are submitted as well, including one from Chad Simmons. Zandamela plans to take several official visits, but the Seminoles are the lone program with a confirmed date right now.

Also, Zandamela’s former teammate, offensive tackle Lucas Simmons, is a former Gators target who signed with the Seminoles last cycle.

As for UF, the next step is to secure a visit from the Under Armour All-American. Zandamela is hoping to fit the Gators into his spring itinerary but could end up visiting later in the year instead.

“I’d say Florida is up there for sure,” Zandamela said. “I’m still building a relationship with them, so I guess we will have to see.”

In addition to the Gators and Seminoles, the 6-foot-2.5, 260-pound junior possesses offers from nearly 30 Division I programs. Highlighting that list are Georgia, USC, Oklahoma, Miami, Auburn, Oregon, Ole Miss and Stanford.

“On300 prospect Jason Zandamela was a standout along the interior at Under Armour Orlando. Zandamela has a very strong base, showing the ability to anchor on contact in addition to nice lateral agility,” said On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power.
