On300 CB Mark Zackery IV is closing in on his college decision

Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis On300 cornerback Mark Zackery IV says he is in decision mode and won’t take any more college visits. The finalists remain Cincinnati, Florida, Michigan and Notre Dame.

“Really feeling it out,” Zackery said. “Have more meetings with my family. I feel it coming down to these four. It’s been a big decision for me.”

The On3 Industry tabs Zackery as the nation’s No. 10 cornerback and No. 94 prospect overall. He elaborated on each of his finalists.

Regarding Cincinnati: “Obviously Coach (Kerry) Coombs has been recruiting me since my freshman year. We’ve built a great relationship. He’s been one of those guys that feels he can develop me into a first round draft pick. I believe him and I know there is a lot of room for me to grow and he’ll bring out the best in me.”

Regarding Michigan: “Obviously with the new staff coming in that culture there and them winning is a big deal for me. They’re coming off a National Championship and them winning, they have a culture there I’d love to be included in.”

Regarding Florida: “Florida is a school I’ve been watching since I was little. My family and brother, being a fan growing up and following behind him and watching those games on Saturday.”

Regarding Notre Dame: “They have a winning culture. It means more than football there with the degree, the coaches, the players, small campus and the prestige that they have there.”

Notre Dame is the On3 RPM favorite to land Zackery.

En route to a state championship in the Hoosier State’s largest class, Zackery was a major factor on Fridays in the fall turning 53 receptions into 823 yards and eight touchdowns with 39 tackles, eight pass breakups, four interceptions, a fumble return for a touchdown and a pick six.
