On300 American Heritage receiver says Miami is standing out after pair of March visits: “I like the brotherhood”

Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage On300 2026 receiver Jamar Denson hasn’t yet landed a Miami offer, but that hasn’t stopped the 5-foot-10, 170-pound wideout from making his way to Coral Gables.

Denson, the No. 293 overall prospect and No. 47 receiver in the 2026 class, attended a pair of consecutive spring practices in late March and has had contact with the Hurricanes’ staff. Denson initially only planned to visit Miami last Thursday before head coach Mario Cristobal told him during the visit he wanted him to return to Coral Gables Saturday to watch a second practice, which Denson was excited to do. They marked his first two trips to Coral Gables as a recruit, although he said he’d been to campus previously with other groups.

“I feel like the practices went very well,” Denson said. “I like the brotherhood the receivers have. As soon as someone catches the ball or makes a play, the receivers are already down there celebrating. Basically, (the staff said) they want me to keep going back down there.”

Denson only spoke with Cristobal for a few minutes and says he’s a “very good coach” who prioritizes player and team development. He said he’s spoken with 2026 four-star receiver commit Malachi Toney, his teammate at American Heritage, about the Hurricanes and has only heard good things, saying Toney has told him he “loves it down there.” His quarterback, 2026 four-star gunslinger Dia Bell, has also shown strong interest in the Hurricanes.

Denson added he wanted to attend a second Miami practice last month to try to learn as much as he could about the program and how the staff runs its practices. He also wants to return later this summer but has not locked in a specific date to visit campus.

Oklahoma, Tulane and Florida State, the first two of which have already offered Denson, have shown the most interest in recent weeks, he said. Denson also holds offers from Colorado and Cincinnati, and he says he’s “very interested” in Miami after a pair of trips to Coral Gables.

“The brotherhood they have, and it’s local,” Denson said of the reasons for his interest. “My parents and friends can see me if I decide to go there.”

CaneSport’s Take

We don’t mean to jump the gun here, but it seems like a Miami offer could be on the horizon for Denson considering the Hurricanes have already hosted him twice, chatted with him at his school during contact periods and have never shied away from offering young South Florida prospects.
