On3 VP of recruiting Steve Wiltfong sees Five-Star Plus+ CB Na’eem Offord sticking with Ohio State

COLUMBUS – Lettermen Row was in Indianapolis this week for Big Ten Media Days.

While in Indianapolis, Lettermen Row’s Spencer Holbrook caught up with On3 Vice President of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong to discuss Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class.

One prospect they discussed was Five-Star Plus+ Ohio State cornerback commit Na’eem Offord out of Birmingham (Ala.) Parker. Several schools are trying to flip Offord from Ohio State including the in-state programs in Alabama and Auburn.

Wiltfong currently believes, however, that Offord will stick with his commitment to Ohio State.

“Well, I think he sticks because of the relationship and trust that he and his family have with Coach Tim Walton. Coach Walton has done a fantastic job of building a connection with that family, and has shown Na’eem and his dad, ‘Hey, this is how we’re going to develop you at Ohio State. We care about you as a person’. And so that foundation that Coach Walton and then the Ohio State Program has with Na’eem Offord has given them great footing to hold on to him as he continues through his process.”

“Obviously, he took visits to Auburn, Alabama and Oregon but Ohio State got the last official visit. And look, man, these are big boy battles, you win some, you lose some there’s no telling what’s going to happen. Every program is going to have someone flipped, that they’re not expecting and they’re going to flip some people so we’ll see what happens with Ohio State but as I talked to you inside Lucas Oil Stadium here in beautiful Indianapolis, I think that they’re going to hold on to Na’eem Offord.”

Offord ranks as the No. 8 overall prospect and the No. 2 cornerback in the 2025 On300. He is the No. 9 overall prospect and the No. 3 cornerback in the On3 Industry Rankings.
