On3 No. 1 RB Nathaniel Frazier has ‘high’ interest in Georgia following official visit

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star running back Nathaniel Frazier spent last weekend on an unofficial visit to Georgia. The 5-foot-10.5, 205-pound tailback had a “great time” in Athens.

Frazier interacted with numerous players committed to the Bulldogs. One of them — North Palm Beach (Fla.) The Benjamin School four-star running back Chauncey Bowens — chose Georgia during his official visit.

“They were really explaining everything to me, wanting me to come home,” Frazier told On3. “I got a chance to meet Chauncey Bowens. He just flipped his commitment from Florida to Georgia, so getting a chance to meet him, he’s a great guy. It was just outstanding. Even though I wasn’t on an official, they made it feel like I was on an official visit based off the love they were showing me, how coach (Kirby) Smart acted with me and the things that were going on. It’s a great place.”

Bowens was just one Bulldogs pledge that Frazier spent time with. Others included Rockledge (Fla.) four-star safety Jaylen Heyward, Avon (Conn.) Avon Old Farms four-star quarterback Ryan Puglisi and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star wide receiver NiTareon Tuggle.

The No. 1 player in California found it very easy to bond with Georgia’s commits while on campus. In addition to seeing the Bulldogs, Frazier is taking official visits to Oregon (June 16) and Alabama (June 23) this month.

“Getting an offer from Georgia was crazy, especially with the history that they have,” said Frazier, the No. 31 overall prospect and No. 1 running back in the 2024 On300. “Based on where they stand for me, they are a very high school. I’ve visited them two times. With that school, you think you’ve seen everything, but you haven’t even seen enough, you haven’t even heard enough. I can’t wait to get back for a game.”

Frazier is intrigued by how Georgia develops running backs

Frazier currently shares a backfield at Mater Dei with four-star running back Jordon Davison, one of the top players in the 2025 cycle. As a result, the four-star would embrace playing with Bowens if he decides to commit to the Bulldogs.

“He’s a great, great kid, great guy,” Frazier said. “He’s very hungry. He works hard, coach (Dell) McGee was telling me he works hard. It doesn’t bother me at all because if you look at the history of Georgia running backs, you’ve got dudes like Sony Michel and Nick Chubb and then an incoming freshman in D’Andre Swift. Every single one of those players has made it to the National Football League. If you think about the things that coach McGee has done with highly-rated recruits that made it to the league, that makes you know that Georgia is a room that if you work hard and you don’t run from competition, you will go very far.”

According to Frazier, his commitment could come in July or later in the summer ahead of his senior season. One of the reasons why Georgia may be in the running for his pledge is McGee.

Frazier appreciates how the Bulldogs assistant not only develops great running backs, but also great men. The four-star has grown close with McGee since he started recruiting him in January.

“He’s a very quiet guy, but now he shows you exactly who he is,” Frazier said. “He’s a great family guy, he’s a person that you can really learn a lot from and he’s a person that you can see as a coach. You can have a lifelong relationship with him.”
