Omaha Central OT Caleb Pyfrom checks out Nebraska scrimmage on Saturday
Nebraska hosted Omaha (Neb.) Central offensive tackle Caleb Pyfrom this Saturday for their first spring scrimmage. Pyfrom said that he saw good effort from the team this morning, saw a couple of early enrollees on the field taking reps too, and is planning to return to Nebraska later this summer.
“It was a pretty long day,” Pyfrom said. “We got there around 9:30, right at the beginning of practice, and we took a short tour of the new facilities and saw the construction, then came back to watch the scrimmage.”

The scrimmage was good for Pyfrom. He said it was very physical, and he saw some things unique about today’s scrimmage.
“I have never seen live QBs in practice. There was a lot of contact. Everyone was working hard. It was really good to see it.”
On top of the live quarterbacks in the scrimmage today, he said that the offense was effective in the red zone. He also saw a couple of 2023 early enrollees getting after it during the scrimmage.
“The run game was doing pretty good today,” Pyfrom said. “When they were in the red zone, they punched it in almost every time. The offensive line is working well with the new staff, and it’s nice to see that.
“I saw Gunnar Gottula, and he was getting some reps during the practice. I saw Maverick Noonan too! I saw Noonan, and he was getting some work. Malachi Coleman was there for the scrimmage too to watch.”
Nebraska visit went well for OT Caleb Pyfrom and he plans a return visit
Pyfrom came in today at 6-foot-4.5 and 310 pounds when the Nebraska staff checked his height and weight. He got to talk to the nutritional staff and then spoke with the head coach.
“I met with the nutritional staff after the practice, and then we did a photoshoot. After the photoshoot, we talked with coach Rhule about his past coaching jobs, his beliefs, and his staff. My dad was there too, and we were chopping it up.”
There are no other visits set up for Pyfrom right now. He will be at a camp in two weeks and says he would like to return to Lincoln later this summer to see the new facility when the construction is complete.
“I don’t have a time set yet to get back to Nebraska. I want to get back to see the new facilities when they’re done. I plan on doing the UnderArmour-ESPN camp in two weeks in Kansas City. I don’t have any other plans in April, and I haven’t started planning any official visits.”
