Ole Miss vs Georgia: Squirrel interrupts play for second time at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in 2024

Everyone in Oxford made a new friend during the Ole Miss-Oklahoma game as a squirrel got onto the field. The animal’s presence caused a slight delay in the game but instantly became a star on social media. A few weeks later, the squirrel decided some more attention was needed and a return was made.
Right before a critical third down for Ole Miss early in the second quarter against Georgia, the squirrel got on the field. Officials instantly blew their whistle and let the situation play out. Eventually, the Bulldogs’ sideline is where the squirrel ended up.
On3’s Andy Staples was able to capture a video of the moment, showing some of the animal’s movement. People inside Vaught Hemingway Stadium went crazy, cheering it on. You can check some of the action from field level here.
