Ole Miss makes Top 8 for four-star defensive lineman Terrance Hibbler
Holmes County Central (Miss.) defensive lineman Terrance Hibbler announced his top schools on Monday. Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Mississippi State and Texas are the finalists for the four-star prospect from Lexington, Miss.
The 6-foot-2, 285 pound prospect seems to hold three programs in particular in high regard: Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas. The three lead his Recruiting Prediction Machine currently and seem to have the inside track as of this writing. I expect LSU to be involved down the stretch as well.
Hibbler recently visited Texas and told Inside Texas they would definitely receive an official visit. But I still think Ole Miss is the frontrunner right now because of Pete Golding and Randall Joyner.
“The coaches are real,” Hibbler told On3’s Chad Simmons. “I want to get back up there so I can get the whole tour and have more time.”
I fully expect him to have a detailed sit down this week with both Golding and Joyner about where he fits into the Rebels’ 3-4 scheme and how they envision him making a difference in the program.
Hibbler is the No. 326 overall recruit in the On3 Industry Ranking, an industry-generated average which utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks the No. 31 defensive lineman in the country and No. 12 recruit in Mississippi.
Terrance Hibbler has two official visits to Alabama (June 2) and Texas (June 23) on the books and the Rebels are in contention for one as well.
He has been to Oxford, Miss., twice this year and Golding and Randall Joyner are trying to get him back as soon as possible. Auburn is playing catch up but he tells On3’s Jeffrey Lea he plans to check out the Plains again.
“I like how friendly everybody is,” he said. “Everybody is just so friendly. When I got here (Friday) night, everybody already knew who I was. It’s love.”
Ole Miss currently has the 27th-ranked recruiting class in the 2024 cycle.
Basha (Ariz.) four-star quarterback Demond Williams Jr., Picayune Memorial (Miss.) three-star running back Chris Davis, Winona Secondary School (Miss.) three-star linebacker Fred Clark, Callaway (Miss.) three-star wide receiver Jeremy Scott, Pascagoula (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Jeffery Rush and Jones College (Miss.) linebacker Raymond Collins make up the current group.
