Ole Miss is reportedly showing interest in Texas A&M Corpus Christi PG Terrion Murdix

Ole Miss and head coach Chris Beard may not be done in the NCAA Transfer Portal. On Monday, it was reported by The Portal Report the Rebels have reached out to Texas A&M Corpus Christi guard Terrion Murdix.
The 6-foot-1, 170 pound prospect averaged 13.4 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game. In addition, he added 2.3 steals and shot 49 percent from the field, and 34 percent from three-point range. Murdix will be a graduate transfer and should be immediately eligible.
Near the end of the 2022-2023 season, Murdix injured his knee in the Southland Conference Tournament. He subsequently missed the Islanders’ NCAA Tournament games against Dayton in the First Four and the Round of 64 matchup against No. 1 seed Alabama. He spoke with George Michalowski about the severity of the injury.
“It was a complete blow,” Murdix said. “Everything. ACL, MCL, PCL, Meniscus.”
Per Michalowski, Murdix is now three-months post operation and is going to physical therapy four times per week. He says he should be 100 percent by December 15, and he is currently feeling ‘great.’
Terrion Murdix, Isaac Mushila and the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men’s basketball team celebrated clinching their second Southland Conference regular season title with an 83-75 win over Northwestern State on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023 at the American Bank Center

Murdix has also heard from College of Charleston, Iona, Utah, UCF, WKU, Seton Hall, GCU, Wichita State, Cal and Cincinnati.
Terrion Murdix is just the second Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year in Texas A&M Corpus Christi program history.
He was also tabbed to the All-Defensive Team for the second year in a row. Murdix led the league in assists, assist:turnover ratio and steals, ranking 14th in the nation (2.3) and 23rd in assists (5.4 apg). He broke the school record for assists in a game with 15 against Nicholls.
Murdix was the first player in program history to score 15 or more points and 15 or more assists. Furthermore, he tied the school record for steals in a game with seven against UTSA. Beard is a defense-first coach with a knack for creating havoc in the half court, creating opportunities in transition. If Murdix can recover from his knee injury, it’s a no-brainer pickup for Ole Miss.
He would bring a college career’s worth of experience and is the unselfish type who thrives in Beard’s system. He previously played at Mineral Area College where he helped them finish undefeated in the regular season. Murdix and MAC finished 24-1 in 2020-21 and won the Region 16 Championship. He averaged 9.8 points, 6.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
Ole Miss and Chris Beard have signed quite the doozy of a portal class in 2023.
On3 has the Rebels as No. 11 in the team rankings. Five-Star Plus+ center Moussa Cisse will look to hold down the front court with 7-foot-5 Western Kentucky big man Jamarion Sharp. Auburn’s Allen Flanigan and Georgetown’s Brandon Murray will man the wings and Austin Nunez and Jaylen Murray will be the newcomers in the backcourt.
Matthew Murrell, Jaemyn Brakefield, TJ Caldwell and Robert Cowherd return and give Beard and Co. a bonafide SEC club. And, yes, it not only should but could challenge to dance in March.
