‘Ole Miss is getting better’: Amontrae Bradford talks communication with Ole Miss, Randall Joyner

Statesboro (Ga.) EDGE Amontrae Bradford is starting to narrow his scope. Last week, he released his Top 8. Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Colorado, Mississippi State, Indiana, Virginia Tech and Ole Miss all made the cut for the 6-foot-5, 230 pound prospect.

According to On3’s Industry Ranking, Bradford is considered the No. 871 prospect in the 2024 class. He is also ranked as the No. 60 EDGE recruit and Georgia’s 102nd-ranked player.

He has one official set to Kentucky in September for its game against Eastern Kentucky. Bradford has also unofficially visited Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Virginia Tech, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and Florida State.

Now he is starting to hear from Ole Miss and defensive line coach Randall Joyner more.

“Ole Miss is getting better,” Bradford said. “It’s them, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Virginia Tech. I am probably focused on those four the most right now.”

Bradford tells OMSpirit he talks to Vanderbilt “the most” and hears from Virginia Tech “almost every day”, but Joyner’s presence in his recruitment could change things.

“He came to see me at practice,” Bradford said. “He said that he loves the way I play and that’s what he wants me to do at Ole Miss.”

As a junior, Bradford made 40 total tackles and added two sacks and one tackle for loss. He also competes in throwing events in track and field.

August is right around the corner and high school football will be cranked up before we know it. The Georgia prospect says he is keeping this in mind and preparing for a decision.

“Ole Miss wants me to come up for a visit soon,” Bradford said. “Coach Joyner wants me there this summer. I might be there for Juice Fest 23. And then I will probably go during the season, too.”

He says Tennessee is still on him and “keeping tabs”. But for now it seems like a four-team race between Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Virginia Tech and Ole Miss. Bradford also plans, for now, to be ready to make a decision on a commitment before his senior season begins.
