Ole Miss could turn to a few more 2024 RB prospects after Chris Davis flipped. Get to know them here

Picayune Memorial (Miss.) running back Chris Davis decommitted from Ole Miss in June and quickly flipped to Stanford after an official visit. Running backs coach Kevin Smith has had a ton of success as a position coach and recruiter at Ole Miss. So who will he turn to now after losing the in-state prospect?
WP Davidson (Ala.) running back Derrick Butler has been on campus several times. The fast-rising 2024 prospect made his way to Ole Miss back-to-back weekends in April after being offered by the Rebels in March. He’s now up to double-digit offers.
“The energy of the fanbase, the players (and) even the coaches,” Butler said, when asked what all stood out about Ole Miss. It just really stuck out to me.”
Smith is joined by former Ole Miss running back turned analyst Enrique Davis in the recruitment of Butler. He’s currently unranked by On3, Rivals and ESPN. However, he carries a three-star designation on 247Sports.
Later in the interview with Garrett, the 6-foot-1, 190 pound recruit told him his plan for when he gets to college.
“I am most looking to develop and play early in college.”

As a junior, Butler toted the rock 184 times for 1,338 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also had 12 receptions for 115 yards and two more scores.
Jamauri McClure is another Alabama prospect who Ole Miss is keeping tabs on.
The 5-foot-10, 190 pound running back prospect from Goshen (Ala.) is also being recruited by Smith and Davis. He committed to South Alabama over the weekend but I suspect Ole Miss will try to get him on campus sooner rather than later.
Troy, UAB, Purdue, Miami, Cincinnati, Tulane and Western Michigan have extended offers and Mississippi State is still showing interest. He’s been clocked as fast as 4.49 in the 40 yard dash and had a super productive junior season.
McClure was a second-team AHSAA Class 2A all-state pick after rushing for 1,173 yards and 16 touchdowns. He averaged 9.7 yards per carry and also caught 12 passes for 354 yards and seven more scores.
