College players who have transferred to Ole Miss

Treyson Hughes – OF, Mercer

The sophomore from Warner Robins, Ga., introduced himself to the college baseball world in 2022, hitting .317/.403/.576 with 14 home runs. This year, he was even better. Hughes started all 58 games for the Bears and hit a team-leading .387 with 11 home runs and 52 RBI. He also led Mercer with 85 hits and 15 doubles. The sophomore slugged .604 and boasted a .504 on-base percentage as well.

This year, Hughes was named 2023 All-Southern Conference First Team by the coaches AND the media. He was also a 2023 Southern Conference All-Tournament Team selection. The single season runs leader in program history (74) led Mercer to a 33-25 overall record in 2023 as well as a 13-8 record in the SoCon.

Andrew Fischer – INF, Duke

The left-handed-hitting Fischer slashed .289/.404/.595 as a freshman last season. He had 11 home runs, 12 doubles, four triples and 33 runs batted in. He became the sixth player in program history to be named to the All-ACC Freshman team, Perfect Game’s Second Team Freshman All-America and broke the single season home run record for a freshman at Duke.

Connor Spencer – RHP, SELA

He was the 20th-ranked pitcher in Mississippi coming out of high school, per Perfect Game. Helped Hernando High School to a 22-9 record and a third round appearance in the MHSAA 6A playoffs as a senior. He boasted a 1.43 earned run average and struck out 90 batters in 49 innings. He held opponents to a .133 batting average.

At the plate, he hit .361 with 17 runs batted in and nine doubles. During his one season at MGCCC he hit .306 with three home runs and nine runs batted in. Then after transferring to NMCC, he was a relief pitcher who collected six saves, 48 strikeouts and a 2.60 earned run average in 24.2 innings.

In 2023, Spencer struck out 23 batters in 14.1 innings and held opponents to a .250 batting average.

Kyler Carmack – RHP, Arkansas State

In 2023, he was second in the Sun Belt Conference in earned run average (3.23) and finished with a 5-3 record in 12 appearances. He struck out 60 and walked 37 in 69.2 innings. Opponents hit just .242 against him and he has been tabbed as a name to watch in the 2024 MLB Draft, per Joe Doyle.

Carmack was an All-Arkansas Preps first-team selection in 2021 at Cabot High School. He hit .437 with a 1.186 OPS for a team which reached the Class 6A state quarterfinals. This was on top of playing wide receiver for the football team, a perennial contender in Arkansas’ 6A classification.

Liam Doyle – LHP, Coastal Carolina

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Doyle is coming off a solid first season with the Chanticleers. He had a 4.15 ERA over 56.1 innings and struck out 69. He walked 20, while opponents hit .206 against him as he served in a two-way role. Arguably his most impressive outing came in his first career quality start back in May.
