Oklahoma releases hilarious SEC basketball schedule reveal video
SEC basketball schedule releases came out on Tuesday. While opponents and venues were already known, exact dates were thrown onto the matchups, giving most programs a complete schedule for the 2024-2025 season.
In a new era for the SEC, this year will be the first time Oklahoma takes the court as a member of the conference. Multiple new teams will be coming to Norman and to celebrate, the Sooners’ Basketball X account got the students involved to reveal the schedule.
Questions were asked of students on campus to reveal opponents, with correct answers resulting in t-shirts. Some were as simple as just naming a school in the SEC. Others were opponent-specific, like “Name an SEC school with a tiger mascot,” resulting in multiple answers.
A similar exercise from what we saw on Broadway from the Tennessee Titans for their schedule reveal, Oklahoma put their own twist on it. You can watch the full video here.
Oklahoma will begin the SEC schedule off with a bang, traveling to Alabama on Jan. 4. The regular season will end on March 8 in Austin against Texas, the second of two matchups the Red River rivals will play against one another. The Sooners will play host on either Jan. 14 or 15, with the exact date being determined down the road.

Last season was one of heartbreak for head coach Porter Moser. After getting off to a flying start and being ranked as high as No. 7 in the AP poll, Oklahoma did not make the NCAA Tournament. In fact, they would have been the next team in line to get an at-large bid, being named the top ‘First Four Out’ team.
Three seasons in Norman and unfortunately, none have resulted in postseason appearances. Not too long ago, Oklahoma was a two-seed and made a Final Four appearance under Lon Kruger, occurring back in 2016.
Yes, the Big 12 is an established basketball conference — arguably the best in the country. Last season’s additions only made them stronger, with Houston winning the regular season championship.
Even so, entering the SEC presents a whole new kind of challenge for Oklahoma. The SEC has taken the sport as seriously as anybody in recent years and results in the NCAA Tournament have proven as such. There might be a couple of off nights available but the top-end will be as good as anywhere in college basketball.
