Ohio State’s consistency with 2025 4-star OL Avery Gach has the Buckeyes high on his list

Just over a year ago, Ohio State offered Avery Gach. Toldedo offered first. Central Michigan was next to offer 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive tackle out of Franklin (Mich.) Wylie E. Groves. A couple of days later, Ohio State came in with an offer to the No. 163 prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings.

Since then the Buckeyes have been on Gach’s radar and he was back in Columbus for the sixth time over the weekend.

“Ohio State has been one of the most consistent schools with me since they offered,” Gach told On3. “I have been to three games now and what keeps me going back is the culture. They are a consistent football team, they always compete for national championships and they are relatively close to home. I like the coaches, they just have that consistency and I always have a good time when I visit.”

Ohio State knocked off Maryland in front of Gach this time. The Buckeyes won to move their record to 5-0 this season. The Buckeyes win, they develop players and the Big Ten program has put itself in a good position for one of the best linemen in the Midwest.

“Nothing shocks me at Ohio State. Every time I go the visits are good. I have gotten to know the coaches, I know about the culture and now I just go back and get to know the recruits me. That consistency is what has Ohio State as one of my top schools.

“Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, Penn State and USC are up there for me. Ohio State was one of the first schools to see something in me and that will always mean a lot. They have good people there, Coach Ryan Day has created a top culture and I like how they are always winning.”

Offensive line coach Justin Frye is doing a great job here too. He and Gach communicate each week and Frye is already talking technique with the target and giving feedback on his performance this season.

Gach will be at Michigan this weekend for the Indiana game. Along with Ohio State, he has taken in games at Georgia and Penn State already this season.
