Ohio State rises in On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings

Ohio State rises in On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings

It has been a good few days for Ohio State. After landing a commitment from San Antonio (Texas) Veterans Memorial four-star running back James Peoples on April 2, the Buckeyes got another one 48 hours later from New Haven (Ind.) five-star wide receiver Mylan Graham.

Graham’s pledge elevated the Buckeyes’ 2024 recruiting class to No. 2 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Ohio State’s group, which also ranks No. 1 in the Big Ten, rose one spot from No. 3.

“I can feel that coach (Brian) Hartline really wants me to be one of his guys in the ’24 class,” Graham told Matt Parker of Lettermen Row on Sept. 16. “I’ve built a relationship with coach (Ryan) Day, other recruiting people and player personnel people.”

Graham is the No. 12 overall prospect and No. 4 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Indiana.

“I understand the game a lot,” Graham told Kyle Kelly of Blue and Gold on March 3. “I think my greatest ability is my YAC ability, yards after the catch. When I get the ball in my hands, I’m dynamic with it. I get in and out of breaks fast, good footwork. I attack the ball and I always win one-on-one matchups.”

Graham gives Ohio State another massive recruiting win

Landing Graham marks a big victory for Day and his staff, and not just because he is one of the best players in the country. The 6-foot-0.5, 170-pound wideout gives Ohio State commitments from two top-15 wideouts, as Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Jeremiah Smith chose the Buckeyes on Dec. 14.

Other players pledged to the Buckeyes include Peoples, New Palestine (Ind.) four-star interior offensive lineman Ian Moore, Sunbury (Ohio) Big Walnut four-star linebacker Garrett Stover and Toledo (Ohio) Central Catholic three-star interior offensive lineman Marc Nave. Meanwhile, Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward four-star offensive tackle Deontae Armstrong and Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward four-star offensive tackle Devontae Armstrong chose Ohio State on March 27.

Following Graham’s commitment, Day and Co. are still after many talented targets, including Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star quarterback Air Noland. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Ohio State has a commanding lead for Noland at 84.2%.
