Ohio State ‘definitely’ at the top for in-state running back Bo Jackson after official visit

COLUMBUS – Four-star Cleveland (Ohio) Villa Angela-St. Joseph running back Bo Jackson was one of 10 prospects who took an official visit to Ohio State this weekend.

Jackson’s time in Columbus had a big impact on his recruitment.

“Oh, it impacts it a lot because I liked Ohio State a lot and I really enjoyed my visit,” Jackson told Lettermen Row.

The 6-foot and 210-pound Jackson is the No. 73 overall prospect in the 2025 class in the On3 Industry Ranking. He is also the No. 125 overall prospect and No. 4 athlete in the On300.

Ohio State running backs coach Carlos Locklyn has been recruiting Jackson since he was an assistant at Oregon and the two have built a close relationship. Jackson enjoyed getting to be around Locklyn again on his official visit.

“It was great. I got to see him one time on an unofficial visit. I love his personality and everything so it was good getting back around him.”

Jackson has also gotten to know Ohio State head coach Ryan Day throughout his recruitment and the Buckeyes’ head ball coach sent a clear message to the in-state standout this weekend. 

“It’s always a good time meeting with Coach Day. Pretty much his whole message is that he wants me there and that they’re really interested in me. And Ohio State is home. My parents like him a lot. He calls me every once in a while so I have a really good relationship with Coach Day.”

Jackson’s favorite part of his official visit, however, was spending time with the current players in Columbus.

“Getting to hang around the players,” Jackson said about his favorite part of the official visit. “I love all the players’ personalities. Everybody was able to have fun with each other. They all said that they liked coach Locklyn since he came in and he’s a very good coach.”

Georgia hosted Jackson for an official visit last weekend and he will visit Alabama next weekend so his recruitment is far from over but Ohio State at the top of it after his official visit.

“Ohio State is definitely at the top after this visit. I liked it a lot.”
