Ohio State baseball impresses Strongsville (Ohio) RHP Jude Fisher on game-day visit
STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — Ohio State head baseball coach Bill Mosiello is about to finish his second season as the Buckeyes’ skipper and both have been a relative success considering the roster that the coaching staff inherited.
The next step for Mosiello is continuing to stockpile talent in Columbus and the best way to do that is through high school recruiting. Ohio State has accepted commitments from eight high school prospects in the 2025 class and the coaching staff is still trying to add more players to their class.
One player that the Ohio State coaching staff is keeping a close eye on is Strongsville (Ohio) right-handed pitcher Jude Fisher who took in a game in Columbus earlier this spring.
“It was awesome. I mean, going down to obviously one of the biggest schools in the state,” Fisher said to Lettermen Row about his Ohio State visit. “Meeting the coaches, the facilities were nice, was able to meet some of the players, too. Talk to them a little bit. So it was a really fun time.”
Fisher has yet to receive any type of a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes but that could come this summer after the coaching staff sees him pitch in-person.
“Next step is they, obviously, want to see me in-person because they haven’t. They’ve obviously seen a lot of it on me. So I’ll be sending them my high school schedule and my summer schedule, which I already did. And they’ll be coming out to one of my games pretty soon.”
And if the Buckeyes were to offer Fisher it would be a big moment in his recruitment. While he didn’t grow up watching Ohio State baseball, he does love watching Ohio State football and is a fan of the Buckeyes.
“Oh 100%. I loved watching those Ohio State games, especially against Michigan. They get me really riled up.”
Fisher is the highest-ranked uncommitted pitcher in the state of Ohio in the 2025 class, according to Prep Baseball Report. He ranks as the No. 30 overall prospect in Ohio and the No. 11 right-handed pitcher in the class.
