Officials miss controversial pass interference call against Kansas City Chiefs vs. Atlanta Falcons
The Kansas City Chiefs may have gotten away with one in a big moment during Sunday Night Football in Atlanta.
On a third down with under five to go, Kirk Cousins threw it to Kyle Pitts to try and score a go-ahead touchdown against the Chiefs. The coverage by Bryan Cook was incredibly tight, though, as he dropped it in the end zone with no flag on the play for interference.
“That was a lot of contact, wasn’t it?” said Cris Collinsworth on the broadcast with an agreement from Mike Tirico. “Heads not around and didn’t have a chance to make a play.”
Drake London would then drop the fourth down throw from Cousins for the Falcons to turn it over at the six-yard line with just over four minutes to go.

Atlanta’s defense was able to get the ball back for their offense after forcing a three-and-out by the Chiefs. Still, they’d turn it over on downs again on a fourth down after needing just a lone yard at the 13-yard line.
That catch would have further made it the best outing of the season so far from Pitts. He caught a season-low in passes with just a pair but they went for a season-best in yardage at 59. Most of that came on a 50-yard reception that was nearly a score where he went down right at the goal line.
