Official review: Where Texas sits with each official visitor from June 23-25 weekend

Official review: Where Texas sits with each official visitor from June 23-25 weekend

Success from a Texas Longhorns official visit weekend can’t be measured in the first few days after it ends. Rather, it takes weeks to fully gauge how fruitful it was for Steve Sarkisian and staff.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the group of 21 recruits who officially visited the Longhorns from June 23-25 and see where the program sits with each roughly a month later.

Quarterback

Three-star Trey Owens, Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair #AllGasNoBrakes

Running back

Four-star Jerrick Gibson, Gainesville (Fla.) IMG Academy
The result: Committed to #AllGasNoBrakes over Miami, Tennessee and Georgia June 24.

Wide receiver

Five-star Terry Bussey, Timpson (Texas) High
The result: Texas A&M leads Texas, Oklahoma and LSU.

Four-star Parker Livingstone, Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy
The result: Committed to #AllGasNoBrakes over South Carolina July 1.

Offensive line

Four-star center Daniel Cruz, North Richland Hills (Texas) Richland
The result: Committed to #AllGasNoBrakes over Ohio State June 28.

Three-star IOL Makai Saina, Arlington (Texas) Martin
The result: Committed to USC over Texas June 27.

Four-star OT Daniel Calhoun, Roswell (Ga.) Walton
The result: Committed to Georgia over Texas, Alabama, Tennessee and Auburn July 5.

Three-star IOL Nate Kibble, Humble (Texas) Atascocita
The result: Committed to #AllGasNoBrakes over Texas A&M June 25.

Defensive line

Five-star Dominick McKinley, Lafayette (La.) Acadiana
The result: Texas and Oklahoma led Texas A&M and LSU to end June. This is a wildcard recruitment that could play out for a while.

Four-star Terrance Hibbler, Lexington (Miss.) Holmes County
The result: Remains a commitment to Mississippi State

Three-star Alex January, Duncanville (Texas) High
The result: Committed to #AllGasNoBrakes over LSU July 1.

Four-star T.J. Lindsey, DL, Bryant (Ark.) IMG Academy
The result: Texas and Auburn top two to end June. Texas A&M and Miami still swinging away. Could visit Texas or Auburn the last weekend in July. Chance he could also be committed prior.

Three-star Jayden Jackson, Brownsburg (Ind.) IMG Academy
The result: Will announce July 13. Ohio State, Texas and Oklahoma were the top three coming out of the Texas official visit. Miami and Florida still swinging.

EDGE

Five-star Colin Simmons, Duncanville (Texas) High
The result: Texas ended June the favorite over Miami, LSU, Texas A&m and others. Where Simmons visits the last weekend of July will be interesting. He’s currently scheduled to be in College Station.

Four-star Zina Umeozulu, Allen (Texas) High
The result: Texas ended June favorite over Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

Defensive back

Four-star safety Jordon Johnson-Rubell, Fort Worth (Texas) IMG Academy
The result: Committed to #AllGasNoBrakes over Ohio State, Michigan, TCU and USC July 1.
Official visit schedule: USC June 2-4, Michigan June 9-11, Ohio State June 16-18, Texas June 23-25

Four-star cornerback Corian Gipson, Lancaster (Texas) High
The result: Will announce out of Texas and Clemson July 22. Ohio State not in the top two.

Five-star cornerback Kobe Black, Waco (Texas) Connally
The result: Texas led LSU, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Oklahoma to end June. Will Black show up somewhere the last weekend in July? Texas A&M is trying hard to make it happen. An early September official visit to LSU is scheduled if the process continues into the season.

Four-star cornerback Selman Bridges, Temple (Texas) Lake Belton
The result: Arkansas very much in the mix with Texas right now. TCU still swinging.

Four-star cornerback Wardell Mack, Marrero (La.) John Ehret
The result: Texas led Florida and Florida State among the official visits at the end of June. Florida working to get him back on campus the last weekend of July. LSU remains in the mix, especially if the recruitment goes into the fall.
