Observations from Oregon’s 13th fall practice

With its second scrimmage of fall camp set for this weekend, Oregon held its 13th practice of fall camp Friday at the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex practice fields.
The first 20 minutes of practice, which included stretching and warmups, special teams work, and position-specific drills, were open to reporters and photographers. Here are some notes and observations from that period.
Injuries and absences
During the last open practice on Wednesday, a plethora of key Oregon offensive and defensive players were missing. Many of them were absent once again on Friday.
Senior defensive end Brandon Dorlus, junior defensive tackle Keyon Ware-Hudson, freshman outside linebacker Teitum Tuioti, freshman defensive tackle Tevita Pome’e, junior offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson, redshirt freshman offensive lineman Michael Wooten, and junior receiver Josh Delgado all remained absent.
Additionally, junior receiver Micah Williams was not seen during Friday’s practice.
Redshirt freshman receiver Kyler Kasper returned to practice on Friday after missing Wednesday’s practice.
For the second time this week, junior defensive back Trikweze Bridges was seen with a cast on his left hand but was full-go during the open portion of practice.
Practice observations
With Powers-Johnson, the Ducks’ projected starting center, sidelined, the rotation at the position looked a bit different this afternoon.
Freshman Bryce Boulton, walk-on sophomore Kanen Rossi, and walk-on sophomore Charlie Pickard continued to rep there, as has been the case throughout fall camp. They were joined on Friday by senior Nishad Strother.
Earlier this week, Strother said he has been repping at both guard spots recently. He said at Oregon’s media day that he’ll play wherever he is needed and joked that if offensive line coach A’lique Terry “needs me to snap the ball, I’ll see what I can do.”
Junior Marcus Harper II, who was believed to be competing with Powers-Johnson for the starting center job at the start of fall camp, was seen working with the guards on Friday.
Oregon’s skill position players and defenders went head-to-head in a non-contact sideline-tackle drill. During that period, freshman Matayo Uiagalelei, who has been repping at several different positions along the front seven, worked with an outside linebacker group that also included junior Jake Shipley, redshirt freshman Emar’rion Winston, and freshman Blake Purchase, among others.
Post-practice media availability
Practice is set to conclude at approximately 4:30 this afternoon. Afterward, offensive line coach A’lique Terry, offensive lineman Junior Angilau, and linebacker Jamal Hill are slated to meet with reporters.
