Nuggets: Latest noise surrounding key Kansas State targets

Confidence shifting to Kansas State
A major visit weekend is beginning at Kansas State. Two of the three main targets will be on campus in linebacker target Michael Boganowski and in-state offensive lineman Kaedin Massey. They will be joined by cornerback prospect Plas Johnson and top defensive end target Caleb Redd.
We released it earlier on Thursday, but I have logged a prediction for K-State when it comes to Massey. It has been trending in that direction more and more throughout the month of June, and his official visits elsewhere have only emboldened that sentiment.
Sources in Norman have refuted it to SoonerScoop, but Massey wasn’t particularly thrilled with all parts of his official visit to Oklahoma. Ole Miss barely netted an official visit, Kansas lost one, Nebraska hasn’t received any buzz and Michigan State didn’t host him, either.
The Sooners were the threat, and by all indications, his time there can’t be described as a home run. Massey is about to visit Manhattan, and Kansas State always knock the visits out of the park. Additionally, more and more evidence continues to surface that he was a pretty strong fan of the Wildcats when growing up as a child.
It is almost as if it has always been K-State for Massey, and he was looking for something to change his mind on that and it never happened.
Latest on Brix
A few peeps have come out of the Alabama visit for Grant Brix.
It was an exploratory visit for both sides. The four-star prospect wanted to learn a bit more about the Crimson Tide and grab a better understanding of them, and Nick Saban wanted to get to know him before making any movement forward.
KSO has learned that while Alabama likes him, they aren’t necessarily under the impression that he is all that willing to go that far for college. The perception from those that interact with him continues to be that he would much rather stay closer to home.
Brix’s trip to Tuscaloosa does not end until early on Saturday, and from there, he will make his planned official visit to Nebraska.
Both Kansas State and Oklahoma were confident after his trips to both Manhattan and Norman.
Avery Johnson/Kansas State Athletics
Help from the K-State quarterbacks
A lot of command, leadership and rallying the troops, even on the recruiting trail, has been conducted by the Kansas State quarterbacks, Particularly, we’re seeing that from both Will Howard and Avery Johnson. They have been active in leading the charge to surround themselves with elite talent.
It was immediately after last season that we heard and witnessed the starting quarterback for K-State being tremendously involved in attempting to convince others to stay in Manhattan. The transfer portal is always sitting there, and Howard was recruiting others to stay with him.
For those that had an extra year of eligibility, it was Howard that took it upon himself to be another weapon in the Kansas State arsenal that was helping to recruit them to play for the Wildcats for one more season.
That also consisted of Howard speaking with potential transfer options that were already in the portal to help lure them to play for Collin Klein and the Wildcat offense. He was actively communicating with receiver targets.
On the other side, Johnson was a strong advocate for K-State even before he committed to the Wildcats but also afterward. That has continued since he arrive on campus in June as a true freshman. He has been a central figure on many of the official visits, and has even been seen on social media spreading the word.
