Notre Dame walk-on tight end Charlie Selna enters NCAA Transfer Portal
On Thursday, Blue & Gold recruiting insider Mike Singer reported that a walk-on tight end, Charlie Selna, had entered the NCAA Transfer Portal as a graduate transfer. The 6-foot-6, 242-pound Selna has one more year of eligibility remaining.
A product of Atherton (Calif.) Sacred Heart Prep, Selna joined the Fighting Irish during the 2020 season. After four years of only contributing in practice, he made his debut on the punt return unit in Week 7 vs. Stanford. Selna eventually solidified a role on the punt return team, playing 15 more snaps across four more games. Nine of those snaps came in the College Football Playoff.
In addition to his role on punt return, he played once on kick coverage and once on kick return. He has not recorded any official career statistics.
