Notre Dame Commit Tracker: TE Jack Larsen has a hat trick in senior season debut
Nine of Notre Dame football’s 22 2024 class verbal commits kicked off their senior seasons on Friday night and Saturday. And most of the future Fighting Irish players and their teams had a successful start to their 2023 campaigns.

Here’s how Notre Dame’s nine commits executed on the gridiron this weekend.
Three-star S Taebron Bennie-Powell
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 559 overall player, No. 22 athlete and No. 22 prospect in Ohio. 88.03 rating.
On3 ranking: No. 23 athlete and No. 36 prospect in Ohio. 88 rating.
Bennie-Powell and the West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West defense surrendered 10 first-half points in the season opener. Still, that ended up being just enough for Cincinnati St. Xavier to secure a 10-0 victory. Bennie-Powell’s individual stats were unavailable at the time of this posting.

Three-star CB Karson Hobbs
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 543 overall player, No. 56 cornerback and No. 21 prospect in Ohio. 88.12 rating.
On3 ranking: No. 53 cornerback and No. 23 prospect in Ohio. 88 rating.
Despite playing with a club on his right hand, Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller’s (0-1) Hobbs had five tackles, including three solo, in a 49-28 loss against 2025 four-star cornerback target Mark Zackery and Indianapolis Ben Davis High.

WR Micah Gilbert
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 222 overall player, No. 39 wide receiver and No. 6 prospect in North Carolina. 91.03 rating.
On3 ranking: No. 241 overall player, No. 44 wide receiver and No. 7 prospect in North Carolina. 91 rating.
In a 40-37 victory over Charlotte (N.C.) Myers Park, Charlotte Christian’s Gilbert caught five passes for 65 yards.

OL Anthonie Knapp
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 349 overall player, No. 26 interior offensive lineman and No. 38 prospect in Georgia. 89.49 rating.
On3 ranking: No. 184 overall player, No. 9 interior offensive lineman and No. 23 prospect in Georgia. 91 rating.
Knapp and Roswell (Ga.) High (1-0) had the most impressive victory of Notre Dame’s nine commits. They took down Denmark (Ga.) High 41-0 with the help of 161 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries (7.7 yards per carry).

TE Jack Larsen
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 468 overall player, No. 31 tight end and No. 14 prospect in North Carolina. 88.60 rating.
On3 ranking: No. 42 tight end and No. 24 prospect in North Carolina. 88 rating.
Larsen and Charlotte (N.C.) Catholic started his senior season off with a bang. The 6-foot-3, 212-pounder scored touchdowns on three of his four receptions and totaled 45 yards. He also contributed on defense with a half sack in the 49-16 victory over Charlotte South Mecklenburg.

OL Styles Prescod
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 321 overall player, No. 23 interior offensive lineman and No. 4 prospect in Indiana. 89.78 rating.
On3 ranking: No. 179 overall player, No. 8 interior offensive lineman and No. 3 prospect in Indiana. 91 rating.
On senior night, Prescod and Fishers (Ind.) Hamilton Southeastern (1-0) defeated Fort Wayne (Ind.) Carroll. Prescod and the Royals’ O-line helped pave the way for 213 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries (6.7 yards per carry).

EDGE Loghan Thomas
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 176 overall player, No. 11 EDGE and No. 7 prospect in Ohio. 91.75 rating.
On3 ranking: No. 168 overall player, No. 16 EDGE and No. 7 prospect in Ohio. 92 rating.
Thomas dominated his first game for the Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward Eagles (1-0). In the 27-10 win over Greenwood (Ind.) Center Grove, the 6-4, 210-pound Thomas had 14 tackles, two of which were solo, two sacks and three ball disruptions.

LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 110 overall player, No. 9 linebacker and No. 13 prospect in California. 93.08 rating.
On3 ranking: No. 27 linebacker and No. 30 prospect in California. 90 rating.
In the first game of his senior season, Viliamu-Asa led Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco (1-0) with 11 tackles and seven solo. He also had a sack in the 42-22 victory over Liberty (Nev.) High.
Next game: at Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas (0-0) on Aug. 26 at 7 p.m. EDT.
DL Bryce Young
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 322 overall player, No. 25 EDGE and No. 9 prospect in North Carolina. 89.76 rating.
On3 ranking: No. 194 overall player, No. 19 EDGE and No. 6 prospect in North Carolina. 91 rating.
Charlotte (N.C.) Christian’s (1-0) Young had one of the team’s four turnovers in a 40-37 victory over Charlotte Myers Park. Young had a fumble recovery, two sacks and a tackle for loss.

Notre Dame four-star safety commit Tae Johnson and three-star EDGE Cole Mullins’ teams kicked off their 2023 seasons last weekend. However, neither recruit played due to lower leg injuries.
