Notable 2024 wide receiver prospect confirms he’ll visit Penn State Tuesday

Penn State’s football program will conduct practice No. 10 of the spring Tuesday afternoon. Through the first nine practices, over 40 scholarship players in the 2024 class have traveled to State College. That number could very well reach 70 by the Blue-White Game next weekend.
Tuesday should see a handful of scholarship players make it to Penn State. 2024 linebacker Gabriel Williams confirmed that he’ll visit for the first time since October, while 2025 prospects Ryan Ghea and Luke Nickel will travel east after checking out Ohio State and Pitt in recent days.
Now, another notable prospect who already holds a scholarship offer from the Nittany Lions has confirmed his plans to attend in wide receiver Chanz Wiggins. A three-star prospect from King George, Va., Wiggins has visited Penn State twice since last fall, attending the win over Minnesota and then a junior day in January.

“The things that I liked about today’s visit were getting to know the coaches on a little bit more of a personal level and seeing how much the coaches and staff are invested in our futures as athletes and also young men,” Wiggins said following his most recent visit. “Lastly, the way they treated me. They treated me like I was already a player there, so if I did choose to go to Penn State, I would already know what to expect.”
Wiggins went on to add, “Penn State is a great spot for me to not just become an even better athlete, but also a better person as well. Penn State will give me more opportunities when I’m done with college because of all the alumni they have and their connections with certain people.”
Wiggins’ last visit to Penn State came right before head coach James Franklin made a change at the wide receiver position. That makes Tuesday’s visit his first chance to meet with Marques Hagans since he joined the staff. Wiggins did visit Virginia multiple times while Hagans was on staff, however.
Earning 18 total scholarship offers, Wiggins has visited 11 different schools so far. However, two schools, Penn State and Virginia Tech, have hosted him substantially more than the rest. Brent Pry and the Hokies just hosted Wiggins for the fifth time on March 23.
The On3 Industry Ranking rates Wiggins No. 541 nationally. He’s the ninth-ranked prospect in Virginia.
