Nightly Recruiting Briefing: Michigan State to host yet another four-star RB on official visit

In tonight’s Nightly Recruiting Briefing we will discuss the latest Michigan State offer in the 2024 class. We will also discuss a new official visitor, and more.

New offer-2024 Ohio WR

Michigan State offered class of 2024 wide receiver Dorian Williams of Cincinnati (OH) Princeton High School on May 22. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver is ranked a three-star, the No. 995 overall recruit, the No. 139 wide receiver, and the No. 38 recruit in Ohio by the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings. His other offers include Kentucky, Purdue, Vanderbilt, and Toledo.

Jason’s take:

Michigan State is joining the race for the three-star just before the official visit season. The Spartans will likely push for an official visit, with Vanderbilt pushing for an official visit as well. Wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins is already planning to host four-stars Nick Marsh of River Rouge (MI), Jordan Ross of Garden Grove (CA), and Kwazi Gilmer of West Hills (CA) in June. Marsh will visit on June 23, with the California duo visiting on June 2. Three-star Javarius Green of Shelby (NC) will take an official visit on June 9 as well. Michigan State also sits in a great spot with three-star Tra’Mar Harris of Cincinnati (OH), will take an official visit on June 23, ahead of a June 30 decision date.

New official visit scheduled

Michigan State will welcome four-star running back Caden Durham of Duncanville (TX) for an official visit on June 9-11, he tells SpartanMag.com. The Spartans offered Durham back in November 2022. His other offers include Alabama, Oklahoma, TCU, Florida, LSU, Oregon, Miami (FL), Wisconsin, Texas, Penn State, and more.

Durham is ranked a four-star, the No. 129 overall recruit, the No. 10 running back, and the No. 26 recruit in Texas by the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings.

Jason’s take:

Michigan State and Effrem Reed will look to battle the heavyweights in the recruitment of Durham. The Spartans will take two backs if the right pair were willing to commit. Seattle (WA) O’Dea School four-star, top100 recruit, Jason Brown will visit Michigan State for an official visit on June 23. Four-star Anthony Carrie, of Tampa (FL), is also on the schedule for June 23. The Spartans are also in the race for three-star Darrion Dupree of Chicago (IL) Mount Carmel.
