Justin Denson pushes back commitment date

Michigan State defensive back target Justin Denson was set to announce his commitment on July 1. He pushed back the announcement until July 4 due to a family transportation issue. The Spartans hold a commanding lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), with a 93.9% chance to land Denson. The three-star defensive back is ranked the No. 652 overall recruit, the No. 67 safety, and the No. 1 recruit in Rhode Island, according to the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings.

SpartanMag.com feels good about Michigan State’s standing with Denson ahead of the new decision date. The extra few days allow more time for one of Oklahoma, Florida, Alabama, or Texas A&M to make a move.

The three-star defensive back earned himself a spot in the 2024 Adidas All-American bowl game this winter, featuring the nations top prospects. Denson was announced as an invitee on July 2, later committing to play in the game.

Spartan commits targeting Kwazi Gilmer

Michigan State played host to four-star wide receiver Kwazi Gilmer on June 2. The Spartans look to pull the four-star out of the West Coast, battling Washington, UCLA, and others. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound wide receiver out of West Hills (CA) Sierra Canyon also took visits to UCLA, Washington, Stanford and California.

The newest Michigan State commitment Henry Hasselbeck cited Gilmer as a top target of his. Four-star RB commit Anthony Carrie shared the same sentiment.

Gilmer is ranked the No. 206 overall recruit, the No. 34 wide receiver, and the No. 18 recruit in California by the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings.
