Nightly Recruiting Briefing: Michigan State offers 2025 four-star WR

In tonight’s Nightly Recruiting Briefing we will discuss the latest Michigan State offer. We will also discuss other Spartan recruiting news.

New 2025 offer

Michigan State offered elite class of 2025 athlete Jordan Young of Monroe (NC) High School on August 14. The 6-foot, 170-pound receiver is ranked on the border of five-star territory as the No. 26 overall recruit by the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. He is also ranked the No. 1 athlete, and the No. 2 recruit in North Carolina. On3 is higher on Young than the rest of the industry, ranking him as the No. 16 overall prospect in the country

Young holds other offers from Alabama, North Carolina, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida State, Texas A&M, and more. He took visits to Notre Dame, South Carolina, and NC State this spring. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, South Carolina currently holds the lead at 22.8%.

The borderline five-star has an On3 NIL Valuation of $116K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Jason’s take:

Michigan State has also offered in-state wide receiver Kamren Flowers, of West Bloomfield (HS), as the No. 4 recruit in Michigan plans an unofficial visit for a game this fall. The Spartans also recently offered four-star wide receiver Cooper Perry of Scottsdale (AZ) earlier this month. Michigan State welcomed three-star wide receiver David Rodriguez of Providence (RI) in June for an unofficial visit. The Spartans sit in the top group for Flowers and Rodriguez headed into their junior seasons.

Young could also play defensive back at the next level as it is unclear which side of the ball he was offered on. Michigan State welcomed four-star cornerback Shamari Earls for a visit at the end of July. Earls is the cousin of former Spartan wide receiver Felton Davis. The Spartans are also recruiting three-star Noah Francis of IMG Academy in Bradenton (FL).
