In tonight’s Nightly Recruiting Briefing we will discuss the latest Michigan State quarterback offers in both the 2024 and 2025 class. We will also take a look at the QB targets in both classes.
MSU offers new 2024 QB
Michigan State offered class of 2024 quarterback Henry Hasselbeck of Boston (MA) Xaverian Brothers. The 6-foot-3, 170-pounder holds offers from Georgia Tech, Boston College, Pittsburgh, and more. Hasselbeck is not yet ranked by the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings. He visited Pittsburgh, Boston College, and Connecticut earlier this spring.
Jason’s take:
The Spartans and offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Jay Johnson are expanding their board as Miles O’Neill is in the process of setting up his own official visits. O’Neill took an unofficial visit to East Lansing last week, also visiting Pittsburgh, Penn State, and Texas A&M.
Michigan State is also after three-star Maealiuaki Smith of Sacramento (CA) Junipero Serra School who is looking to setup an official visit for June. BYU, Utah, Louisville,Oklahoma State, and more are also involved with Smith.
Tavian St. Clair offered
Michigan State offered class of 2025 four-star quarterback Tavian St. Clair of Bellefontaine (OH) on May 25. The Spartans joined Ohio State, Penn State, Florida, Illinois, and others in offering the 2025 quarterback.
St. Clair is ranked the No. 291 overall recruit, the No. 20 quarterback, and the No 9 recruit in Ohio by the 2024 On3 Industry Rankings.
Jason’s take:
Michigan State has the No. 1 recruit in the country in their home terriotry in 2025 in Bryce Underwood of Belleville (MI) High School, as that recruitment is very competitive. Michigan, Ohio State, LSU, USC, and others are involved with the five-star.
Michigan and Ohio State are also the main suitors for four-star Ryan Montgomery of Findlay (OH), as The Spartans are also in the mix.
Brother of current Spartan tight end Jack Nickel is 2024 quarterback Luke Nickel of Milton (GA). The Michigan State legacy visited East Lansing earlier this year with North Carolina, Wisconsin, Penn State, Stanford, and more.
