Nightly Recruiting Briefing: In-state 2026 target visiting Michigan State

In tonight’s Nightly Recruiting Briefing we will discuss the latest Michigan State visitor news. We will also discuss other Spartan recruiting news.
Offered in-state 2026 OL headed back to campus
Michigan State recently offered class of 2026 offensive lineman Ben Nichols, of Davison (MI), after the June 23 on campus high school camp. Nichols (6-5, 315) impressed Spartan associate head coach/run game coordinator/offensive line coach Chris Kapilovic during the camp. With his size and frame, heading into just his sophomore season, Nichols projects as a top recruit in the state for his class.
The Spartans join Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan in offering Nichols. He camped with Notre Dame on June 3.
SpartanMag.com took an early look at the visitor list for the event earlier this afternoon (July 9).

Jason’s take:
Michigan State is smart to get in the race early for Nichols, as he will continue to emerge on the recruiting scene in the next couple years. The class of 2026 looks strong early, with Kapilovic and the Spartans also offering Gregory Patrick of Portage (MI) Nothern after the June 23 camp as well. Patrick (6-5, 260) holds offers from Oklahoma, Minnesota, and Central Michigan.
Highly recruited offensive lineman Khalief Canty holds a Michigan State offer, along with Michigan, Tennessee, Auburn, Penn State, Wisconsin, and others. Kapilovic and the Spartan staff have positioned themselves very early on for Canty. The Spartans have also offered 5-foot-11, 180-pound wide receiver William Jones-Terrell, his only offer at the moment.
In the class of 2026, Michigan State has also offered athletes CJ Sadler of Detroit (MI) Cass Tech, a top recruit in the country, and AJ Marks of Farmington (MI) Orchard Lake St. Mary’s.
Sadler is an elite talent, holding offers from Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Michigan, and many more. Marks holds other offers from Penn State, Kansas, Pittsburgh and others.
