NFL are expected to award the 2026 Super Bowl to San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium

NFL are expected to award the 2026 Super Bowl to San Francisco’s Levi’s Stadium

According to Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal, Levi’s Stadium will host the Super Bowl in 2026. It will serve as Super Bowl 60, marking another decade of the NFL’s biggest even of the year. Santa Clara will play as the host city, home of the 49ers.

“News: NFL owners are expected to award the 2026 Super Bowl to @LevisStadium at next week’s meeting,” Fischer said.

When 2026 rolls around, Levi’s Stadium will make it four out of five Super Bowls located on the west coast. SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles) and State Farm Stadium (Arizona) have hosted the past two seasons, while Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas) is on the schedule in 2024.

New Orleans’ Ceasers Super Dome will be the buffer in-between the four, having the event in February 2025.

Levi’s Stadium has hosted a Super Bowl before, back when the venue was brand new in 2016. Denver took down Carolina as Peyton Manning was able to hoist his second Lombardi Trophy. A decade later, another champion will be crowned in Santa Clara.

If the home team is going to play in the Super Bowl in 2026, it will be the San Francisco 49ers. Their division rivals, the Los Angeles Rams, were able to win it in their own stadium. The 49ers will be hoping for the same fate is a few year’s times.

2026 World Cup played factor in team’s desire to host Super Bowl

Most cities would be dying to host a Super Bowl. One of the biggest days on the American calendar, plenty of travelers come in for the event as the NFL looks to crown a champion.

The 2026 edition was different though, with Fischer saying there was not too high of demand. He says the World Cup played a factor, with plenty of NFL stadiums serving as venues later in the summer.

“Last month, I reported that @49ers and NFL execs were in advanced discussions about this,” Fischer said. “There is lower demand for ‘26 game bc so many venues (including Levi’s) are also hosting World Cup matches later that summer.”

Eleven different NFL stadiums will host World Cup games, beginning in June 2026. Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA, and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami are among the group.

Only one will have the World Cup and the Super Bowl, though. A busy 2026 is on the way for Levi’s Stadium.
