Newsstand: What Notre Dame’s betting line opened as against Ohio State

Vegas has set the stage for primetime. According to Circa Sports, the Notre Dame football team opened as a 3-point underdog to the visiting Ohio State Buckeyes for Saturday night’s Week 4 rivalry clash. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. EDT at Notre Dame Stadium. The over/under is 54.5 points.
The No. 9 Fighting Irish (4-0) are coming off a 41-17 victory over Central Michigan last Saturday. Notre Dame did not cover the spread (-34.5) for the first time this season in the win. It previously covered the spread against Navy (-20.5), Tennessee State (-48.5) and NC State (-7).
On Saturday, No. 6 Ohio State (3-0) routed Western Kentucky 63-10 at Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes covered the spread (-29.5) for the first time this season. They failed to cover it against Youngstown State (-45.5) and Indiana (-30.5).
Last season, Ohio State beat Notre Dame 21-10 at the Horseshoe. The Buckeyes were favored by 17 points in that game. Ohio State’s 21 points scored matched their lowest point total of the 2022 campaign.
