Newsstand: What Notre Dame’s betting line opened as against NC State

Circa Sports opened its betting lines for Week 2 of the College Football season on Sunday. Notre Dame was initially favored by six points against North Carolina State, which takes place in Raleigh on Saturday. The over/under point total is set at 48 ½ points.

The Fighting Irish are coming off a 56-3 win over Tennessee State on Saturday. The Irish covered a 48.5-point spread in that game and exceeded the 55-point total. In Week 0 against Navy, Notre Dame covered the 20.5-point spread, but the total (45 points) stayed under 49.5 points.

On Thursday night, NC State took down Connecticut 24-14 on the road. However, the Wolfpack did not cover a 14.5-point spread and stayed under the 48-point total.

The last time Notre Dame and NC State met was at Notre Dame Stadium on Oct. 28, 2017. The Irish beat the Wolfpack 35-14. The year before, they played in Raleigh, N.C., for the first time, a game the Wolfpack won 10-3. That game was famously played in the middle of Hurricane Matthew.
