A crazy stat about Michigan basketball’s 20 game conference season.

Not normal, at all: Michigan is the first Division I team to win 70% of its conference games but post a negative scoring differential in league play since Northern Iowa in the 1983-84 Association of Mid-Continent Universities (now Summit League). https://t.co/tkS12RBfwY

Michigan basketball went 0-2 last week and fell from No. 17 to No. 22 in the Associated Press poll.

First-year head coach Dusty May‘s team is 22-9 overall and 14-6 in the Big Ten, tying for second in the conference standings and earning a No. 3 seed in this week’s Big Ten Tournament. Michigan will take on one of No. 6 seed Purdue, No. 11 seed Rutgers or No. 14 seed USC Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tip-off is scheduled for 25 minutes after the conclusion of the 6:30 game at the same arena.

Michigan is currently on a three-game losing streak, with setbacks to Illinois, Maryland and Michigan State. The Wolverines have lost four of their last six games, after going on a six-game winning streak that put them in late contention for the Big Ten regular-season title.

Quote Of The Day

“I’m very proud that our guys didn’t retaliate in a different manner that could cost them playing in the Big Ten Tournament. To have that self-restraint and self-discipline and realizing that they’re representing Michigan the way they do. I was very proud of that moment, because that could’ve gotten really, really ugly.”
