Newsstand: Top 175 recruit in 2025 includes Notre Dame in his top 10 schools

Newsstand: Top 175 recruit in 2025 includes Notre Dame in his top 10 schools

Notre Dame still receives strong consideration from one of the top defensive linemen in the 2025 class. Four-star recruit Isaiah Campbell announced his top 10 schools on Sunday, and the Fighting Irish made the cut.

Notre Dame is in the same company as Alabama, Clemson, Duke, LSU, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina, NC State, Oklahoma and Penn State for Carter. The 6-foot-4, 250-pounder from Snow Hill (N.C.) Greene Central has 18 Power Five scholarship offers.

Campbell did not include Auburn, Colorado, Georgia, Louisville, Rutgers, South Carolina, Virginia and Wake Forest in his top schools. On Jan. 21, NC State was the first Power Five program to offer him.

Irish defensive line coach Al Washington offered Campbell a scholarship on May 23. The two have remained in frequent contact since then. Campbell even considered working out with Washington during Notre Dame’s Evaluation Camp I on June 15. However, he has not made it up to South Bend.

So far, Campbell’s recruitment has taken a Mid-Atlantic flavor. He’s reported unofficial college recruiting visits to North Carolina (5), NC State (4), Duke (4), Clemson, Virginia, South Carolina, Wake Forest, East Carolina, Elon and Campbell.

The On3 Industry Ranking — a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — considers Campbell the No. 127 overall player, No. 12 defensive lineman and No. 4 prospect in North Carolina. He has a 91.83 rating.

In On3’s own rankings, he’s the No. 175 overall player, No. 18 defensive lineman and No. 5 prospect in North Carolina. On3 gave him a 90 rating.

Campbell’s On3 NIL Valuation annual value is $50,000.
