Newsstand: Notre Dame the only team with three ESPN freshman All-Americans
Three first-year Notre Dame football players have earned All-America accolades. On Friday, ESPN analyst Tom Luginbill named offensive tackle Anthonie Knapp, cornerback Leonard Moore and linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa to his freshman All-America team.
The Fighting Irish are the only team with more than two players on the list.
Knapp has been Notre Dame’s left tackle for the entirety of the 2024 season, while Moore has replaced the injured Benjamin Morrison at cornerback. Before Viliamu-Asa injured his knee against Army on Nov. 23, he served as a key defensive contributor. He is questionable to play against Georgia on Wednesday.
Earlier this month, The Athletic, 247Sports and College Football Network named Moore and Knapp to their freshman All-America team. Moore also landed a spot on Pro Football Focus’ version.
