Newsstand: Notre Dame predicted to land four-star wide receiver recruit

On3 Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction Monday for Aledo (Texas) High wide receiver Kaydon Finley to end up committing to Notre Dame.
Finley, who ranks as the nation’s No. 117 overall recruit and No. 16 wide receiver according to the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking, is fresh off a Notre Dame visit, which went very well. Finley now has been predicted twice to land with the Irish; Blue & Gold did the same in February.
“It was really good,” Finley told Blue & Gold Sunday about his latest ND visit. “I got to watch practice, and it was very competitive. I loved that. I got to sit down and talk with Coach [Marcus] Freeman, and I liked how Coach [Mike] Brown was coaching up his players. It was good to get back.”
This recruitment isn’t over, though. He has a few other unofficial visits lined up, plus official visits. He detailed his upcoming plans with Blue & Gold. Finley will return to South Bend this June.
The 6-2, 195-pounder had a tremendous junior season, catching 81 passes for 1,432 yards with 21 touchdowns across 14 games.
Finley is a Texas legacy. His father, Jermichael Finley, was a tight end for the Longhorns in the mid 2000s and was selected in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played his entire professional career with the Green Bay Packers from 2008-13. The elder Finley helped the Packers capture Super Bowl XLV.
