Notre Dame’s 42-3 win over Navy averaged 3.81 million viewers across NBC, Peacock, and NBC Sports digital platforms, according to an official release from NBC.

The game, which was played in Dublin, Ireland, was the most-watched Irish season opener on NBC since 2020 vs. Duke (4.42 million), most-watched Notre Dame game on NBC since 2021 vs. Cincinnati and most-watched Notre Dame-Navy game since 2014.

Quote of the day

“Oh god. I was a s***show. How does that sound? I mean, what do you want me to do? I mean, I don’t even know what you want me to say. Again, credit to Navy, but it was just, as I said, it was a little crazy for a really, really long time. New formations. New little trinkets. Shifting from unbalanced back to normal. Jet motion. They did a great job.”

— Irish defensive coordinator Al Golden on defending a new-look version of the Navy triple-option offense.
