Michigan has had the most NFL Draft picks among Big Ten teams over the last five years. The Wolverines are at 45, while Ohio State is second with 36 and Penn State third with 33. Oregon is next with only 24. Michigan has nearly double that.
The Wolverines are looking to break their program record in first-round picks tonight. They’ve had three on two different occasions but could be in line to have four first-rounders Thursday.
Judge Claudia Wilken issued an order related to the House settlement, giving a timeframe for when attorneys have to implement the grandfathering in of roster limits or she will deny the settlement.
Michigan graduate EDGE Kechaun Bennett entered the NCAA transfer portal.
The 6-foot-4, 257-pounder played in 28 games over four years at Michigan, mostly seeing action on special teams. He totaled 7 tackles in his career and had a blocked punt against Minnesota in 2024.
“This year, my main focus is just to be the best version of me,” Bennett said in September 2024, discussing his journey at Michigan. “Just get better day by day and make impacts for the team. That’s my main focus, being an impact player — anything I can do, whether it’s special teams, defense, anything to help the team win.”
In 2024, Bennett appeared in 13 games, including three at EDGE, posting 4 tackles, 1 quarterback hurry and the aforementioned blocked punt.
The blocked punt set up a score and marked a breakout moment for Bennett, who seldom put up stats during his Michigan career.
ESPN analyst Tom Crean names Michigan sophomore guard L.J. Cason as a key retention in the country.
ESPN’s Peter Schrager released his one and only mock draft, and he has four Michigan players in the first round — TE Colston Loveland No. 10 the Indianapolis Colts, DT Mason Graham No. 13 to the Miami Dolphins, DT Kenneth Grant No. 22 to the Los Angeles Chargers and CB Will Johnson No. 28 to the Detroit Lions.
